PLANNING BOARD MEETING

MINUTES

TIME: 7:30 P.M.

PLACE:         Wilton Town Hall Courtroom

PRESENT:     Wilton Planning Board Members: Chairman Jeff Kandt, Alec MacMartin, Neil Faiman, Walter Zuber, Matt Fish, John Shepardson, Board of Selectman Representative Bill Condra and Clerk Heather Loewy Nichols.

The agenda was amended as follows:

Chairman Kandt called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m.

1.      Minutes: January 6, 2010.

A MOTION was made by Mr. MacMartin and SECONDED by Mr. Zuber to approve the minutes of January 6, 2010 as amended.

Voting:  6 ayes; motion carried with Mr. Fish abstaining.

2.      Other Business

Mr. Kandt explained that the estimate he received to implement impact fees was $17,500. He explained that the contractor thinks the Board may be able to justify up to $6,500 in fees for each family dwelling and noted that since Wilton has been averaging 20 homes a year it seems that the project would probably pay for itself and then some. However he noted that this is not guaranteed as it is all based on growth. He further explained that the town may still be able to charge offsite improvement fees if there is a specific item such as a local road that needs to be updated to support a specific development. He also noted that it is not essential to update the master plan but is a good idea.

3.      Adjournment

A MOTION was made by Mr. MacMartin and SECONDED by Mr. Fish to adjourn the meeting.

Voting: 7 ayes; motion carried unanimously.

Chairman Kandt declared the meeting adjourned at 7:45 p.m.
